St. Gertrude the Great Church Ohio – Traditional Catholic Winter Wedding

I had the honor of capturing Mary Lynne and Luke’s beautiful winter Traditional Catholic Latin Mass wedding at St. Gertrude the Great Church in West Chester, Ohio. The couple had a Nuptial High Latin Mass in January. The church remained decorated with their Christmas decorations, which made it absolutely gorgeous! Although winter weddings aren’t as popular here in the Midwest, I highly recommend them if your church will remain decorated! They just add to the truly joyous occasion of the day!

Not only is St. Gertrude the Great a beautiful church in general, but it is SO beautiful to photograph in! They have incredible statues and artwork throughout the church, and were very welcoming to me, allowing me to photograph certain moments in the sacristy, to capture the couple’s faces during the ceremony and Mass. I love the image I was able to capture from the sacristy, of the couple kneeling before the altar, with the image of Christ in the background.

As a Catholic wedding photographer, one of the most essential (and important) parts of the Mass for me to capture is the Consecration. This photograph is usually one of my favorites at any wedding, and I was so happy to capture this beautiful photograph that the couple can treasure forever for themselves and family! St. Gertrude the Great also has beautiful side altars of Our Lady and St. Joseph. Toward the end of Mass, the bride presented flowers to Our Lady while the choir sang a beautiful Marian hymn.

After the ceremony and Mass finished, I captured a few photographs of the couple in various areas of the chapel. Their nativity scene is decorated so beautifully, and you can tell that St. Gertrude truly values honoring + glorifying God in all that they do.
